1. Overview
This page explains how brindleaf.com (the "Site") uses cookies and similar browser storage, and how you can control it.
2. Cookies the Site sets directly
The Site itself does not set any cookies. It doesn't use a session cookie for admin login, and it doesn't set a tracking cookie of its own.
3. Cookies set by Google Analytics
The Site uses Google Analytics to understand traffic. Analytics is off by default — the Google Analytics script only loads after you click "Accept" on the cookie-consent banner. If you click "Decline," or simply don't respond, no analytics script loads and no analytics cookies are set.
Once you accept, Google Analytics sets its own standard cookies (typically named _ga, _ga_<container id>, and sometimes _gid) to distinguish visitors and sessions. These are set and controlled by Google, not by BrindLeaf directly — see Google's own policies for how it handles this data.
4. Browser storage the Site uses
In the interest of full transparency, the Site also uses a few entries in your browser's local storage — these aren't cookies (they aren't sent to our server with every request), but we're disclosing them here anyway:
- Analytics consent choice — remembers whether you clicked Accept or Decline, so you're not asked again every visit.
- Draft autosave — if you're partway through an intake form, your in-progress answers are saved locally in your own browser (for up to 30 days) so you don't lose them if you navigate away. This never leaves your browser unless you submit the form.
- Admin session token — only relevant to BrindLeaf's own administrator, not to visitors; used to keep an admin signed in to the internal dashboard.
5. Managing your consent
You can change your analytics choice at any time by clearing your browser's local storage for this Site, or by clearing cookies for brindleaf.com (which removes any Google Analytics cookies already set). Most browsers also let you block Google Analytics specifically through a browser extension or built-in tracking protection.

This policy may be updated from time to time. The effective date at the top of this page reflects the most recent revision.
